I think it's such a great thing. They are all over the place too

Beauty is all around us.

Lately I've been making sure to have my camera with me. There are so many time when I haven't, and I have seen the most beautiful site and not been able to capture it. And it has made me sad, when the beauty was gone, never to be seen quite like that again.

Look at the beauty God has created for us to enjoy. Take a moment.... soak it in.

Life's Curveballs

What do we do we life doesn't do what we want? Do we go into shock? Give up? say what's the point? Sometimes..... but hopefully not for very long. Hopefully we find a way to work past the obstacles and hiccups.
I'm thankful for family and friends that help me work through things that happen in my life.
Even when our minds understand things, sometimes it takes time to process things. Our emotions need time to figure everything out.
So what am I working through?
1. The fact that this life comes to an end for people we love, at some point. And not necessarily when we are ready for it to happen. And even with the knowledge that this isn't the end..... and that a reunion is in the future, doesn't mean we don't want to be selfish and keep our loved ones here with us.
2. That we aren't in charge of timing of new life. That sometimes "growing" a family isn't as easy as we want it to be.
So what is there left to do? give up? NO, NEVER! I find strength by reading Gods word, Seeking Him in prayer.... and drawing closer to Him in His Holy house.
Does that mean I never get emotional? No, that happens quite a bit. But I know that everything will work out somehow. Will everything end the way I want it to? probably not.... But it will be okay.
I bear testimony that Christ is our Savior. That He knows each of us personally. That He loves us, and that he felt ALL pain in the garden of Gethsemane and that we can turn to Him for comfort. This is my testimony,
in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Good Books

The Value of Good Books

Seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom
Doctrine and Covenants 88:118

Good Books are as friends, willing to give to us if we are willing to make a little effort.
Gordon B. Hinckley - Stand a Little Taller

I LOVE books! And I don't spend all my time on romance novels as some might think :o)
I'm reading quite a few books right now :
Covenant Hearts, marriage and the joy of human love, by Bruce C Hafen
Mothering with Spiritual Power, by Debra Sansing Woods
Making Chrildren Mind without Loosing Yours, by Dr. Kevin Leman
and
The Book of Mormon

Remember the challenge to read it? that's a few years back now... well I'm still working on it, I'll be reading Heleman 9 tonight.

Books are such a part of my life, and I try to help my girls love books too. And I must not be too far off on that, as they want us to read them books each night before bed. And many times when they aren't reading to fall asleep yet they will sit and look in their books.
Many lights when I've gone to turn out the light on my way to bed, I find them asleep surrounded by books, not to mention the books they are laying on top of.

Let's seek out the GOOD books!
Happy Sabbath

Small and Simple Things

I've started reading a little book of quotes That I got for Christmas from my mom. It is Marjorie Pay Hinkley's book Small and Simple Things.
And I would like to share with you, my favorites as I come across them

"Who Knows but that something wonderful may happen today. Have Faith that it will. After all, every morning is a chance at a new day"

Let us seize the day, let's not linger on the things we didn't get done yesterday. Let's enjoy the beauty of the sunlight and the shadows playing across the ground. Let's take a chance to just enjoy our children.
Let's not wait for the wonderful to happen. Let US make it happen!

Have a wonderful Sabbath day!

My Cute Girls -sledding joys

We had our second snow of the season. This time it stuck around for for more that 1 hour (it was here for maybe 5)
So Arilyn bundles up and went outside, 15 min later she was back telling me she found the best sledding spot. Rhiannon heard that and Arilyn waited while her sister got bundles up. Then they headed out and went sledding down the hill behind the barn.
I slipped out and watched them a bit.
Arilyn is such a great big sister, she took good care Rhiannon.
They had a blast, that's for sure.
